How Teltonika Eye-sensor works
The Teltonika EYE Sensor works with a compatible Teltonika GPS tracker to provide detailed environmental and asset data:
- Wireless Data Transmission: The EYE Sensor uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to continuously broadcast a signal. This signal contains not only its unique ID but also data from its built-in sensors, such as temperature, humidity, movement, and magnet detection.
- Data Collection by the GPS Tracker: A compatible Teltonika GPS tracker (like the FMC series) with Bluetooth connectivity scans for these signals. The GPS tracker acts as a "gateway," collecting the data from any EYE Sensor within its Bluetooth range.
- Transmission to the Server: The GPS tracker then bundles the sensor data with its own GPS location information (latitude, longitude, speed, etc.). This combined data packet is then sent via the cellular network (4G, 2G, etc.) to a tracking server or cloud platform.
In essence, the EYE Sensor is a "smart accessory" that provides valuable, localized data, while the GPS tracker serves as the primary communication hub that sends all of this information to your monitoring software for real-time analysis. This wireless setup simplifies installation and allows for monitoring of assets that are not directly powered by a vehicle.
