How Teltonika EYE Beacon works
The Teltonika EYE Beacon works in tandem with a compatible Teltonika GPS tracker to provide precise asset proximity and identification data:
• Wireless ID Broadcasting: The EYE Beacon uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology to continuously broadcast a unique identification signal. This "digital fingerprint" allows the system to identify exactly which asset is nearby.
• Proximity Detection by the GPS Tracker: A compatible Teltonika GPS tracker (like the FMC series) acts as a gateway, scanning for these ID signals. When a beacon enters the Bluetooth range, the tracker recognizes its presence and measures the signal strength to estimate distance.
• Transmission to the Server: The GPS tracker bundles the Beacon's ID with its own GPS location, speed, and timestamp. This data is transmitted via the cellular network (4G, 2G, etc.) to your monitoring platform.
